After Marcus, Sale, Top Ten Anthology

After Marcus, 2022 Top Ten, and a Black Friday Sale

I have three things to tell you about today, so let’s get right to it, shall we?

After Marcus

I have a new book coming out on December 10. It’s called After Marcus and it’s a short, second chances, very emotional story about a widower and his neighbor/best friend/rock. It’s available for pre-order at JMS Books and if you like the sound of it, I recommend you pre-order it today because it’s 60% off in their Black Friday sale. But more about that later, let’s look at the cover and blurb first, shall we? I love the cover so much 😍

Ossian’s heart shattered when his husband Marcus died unexpectantly. He shut down, put his life on hold, and would’ve wasted away had it not been for his neighbor, Joar.

Joar was there when Ossian needed him, offered a friendly shoulder to cry on, convinced him to eat, and helped coax him back to the living.

Three years after the life altering event, Ossian starts seeing Joar in a different light, awakening feelings he thought was dead forever. But is Ossian ready to take the leap and open his heart to someone new? And does Joar feel the same?

2022 Top Ten Gay Romance

The second thing I want to tell you about is that Secrets on a Train, my very flirty, meet cute, (sort of) epistolary story has made it into the 2022 Top Ten Gay Romance anthology that will be released by JMS Books on December 31.

Let’s pause and throw some confetti 🎉

I’m so happy that you loved Valentin and Runar’s story so much, even though there’s actually no on-page kiss in the book. I was sure you were all going to hate it, and me for committing the crime of not having a kiss in a romance book, but I guess the excessive flirting helped 😁

The cover of the anthology is lovely, and the lineup of the other featured authors are even better. And as the icing on the cake, it’s also included in the Black Friday sale.

Black Friday (and Saturday) Sale @ JMS Books

And the third thing I’m going to talk about, which I’ve already hinted at twice, is of course the Black Friday sale going on over at JMS Books. All ebooks are 60% off, which means you can pre-order After Marcus for only 80 cents, and 2022 Top Ten for $2.40.

2021 Top Ten Gay Romance

Every year, JMS Books releases an anthology with the best-selling short stories of the year, and I’m extremely happy and honored to tell you that for the fifth year in a row, one of my stories will be included! Can you believe it? Five years in a row!! What have I done to deserve this?

💃 (<- Nell doing the happy dance)

This year, it’s my tiny tattoo story, Wake Him with a Kiss that you loved so much it’ll be included in the anthology. This makes supremely happy, because it’s not even 7000 words long, and most readers tend to go for longer stories. So thank you so much for loving this little book so much it sold so well. 😘

As usual, I’m in excellent company. My friend Hollyfelia (Holly Day/Ofelia Gränd) managed to get two stories into the anthology, one for each pen name, which is a huge accomplishment. K.L. Noone, one of my favorite authors, of course has a story in it, and my dear Kris, too. I’m so happy for all of us!

The anthology will be released on January 1st, and the pre-order link is up at JMS Books now. I’ll post it below.

And if you’ve missed any of the other Top Ten anthologies where I’m featured, here they are:

2017 | 2018 | 2019

Unconditionally, my queer wedding story, is featured in 2017. In 2018, it’s Unexpected Christmas, my best-selling Christmas story to date, that’s even been successful enough to be featured in the A Decade of Gay Romance anthology released in July 2020 to celebrate JMS Books’ 10 years in business. And in 2019, you’ll find Awakenings and French Songs, my neighbors-to-lovers story.

JMS Books 10-year anniversary

I already told you that JMS Books celebrate being in business for 10 years this year and that they’ve planned a lot of stuff to mark this special occasion. One thing is releasing the anthology, A Decade of Gay Romance that features my story Unexpected Christmas:adogr and uc

The anthology was released on July 1st, so now’s the time to go pick up your copy if you pre-ordered it. Or buy it if you haven’t already.

Here’s the link

But that’s not everything they’re doing. The celebration is going on the entire month of July, so on top of that anthology, they will also have daily author sales, there’s a chance to win free books, and JMS authors are writing guest posts for the JMS blog. Including me.

And I did a thing for my guest post. Want a clue? 😁

9ws flashfic

Keep your eyes peeled on the JMS blog on July 22nd if you want to read what I did!

Seriously, though. Check out the blog (here’s the link again) and read the guest posts from the other authors. Maybe try a new-to-you author in one of the daily sales? Enter the giveaway to win a free book? Whatever you can do to support a small queer press like JMS Books is appreciated. They treat their authors really well, are open and honest, and pay their authors on time. All the things that should be a given, but unfortunately aren’t.

So join me in celebrating the incredible achievement of being in business for 10 whole years! (And the thing I did won’t be published here on this blog…#justsayin 😀 )

Nell Iris' Christmas, Top Ten Anthology

10-year anniversary!

In July this year, my fabulous publisher JMS Books celebrate their tenth anniversary! Wohooo, congrats to JM Snyder and JMS Books!!

Naturally, they want do so something to celebrate this amazing milestone. Last year for their 9th anniversary, they sent out a submission call for their existing authors to write a story themed on the number 9. Lots of us did that, including me, I wrote 9 Willow Street for it.

This year, they have several things planned for the celebration, and I’m going to tell you about one of them now:

adecadeofgayromance

Wooooot, look at that lovely, lovely cover 😍😍 I love the idea of an anthology showcasing one story from each year, and also anthologies are a great way of trying out new (to me) authors and reading older stories that I might have overlooked for one reason or other.

I’m not just saying that because I have the honor of having a story included in this anthology. Yes, you read that right, one of my stories will be one of the ten featured in this anthology.

Excuse me while I go do a happy-dance 💃💃

adogr and uc

My holiday story Unexpected Christmas was the best-selling short-story of 2018 which is why it’s included, and it makes me so very happy.

The release day for A Decade of Gay Romance is July 1, and it’s available for pre-order now. I’ll post the link below.

But, one story does not a decade make 🙂 I’m in excellent company with nine other authors. Are you curious of which other stories are included?
