Always You

I moved this weekend. The movers rang my doorbell at 8AM on Friday, and I spent the entire weekend trying to get settled into the new apartment, hardly ever touching my phone. And in the middle of this, I had a new release.

Let me tell you: having a new release while moving is not the greatest thing. I love being online on release days, interacting with readers and reviewers and bloggers that help spread the word about the new book, and missing out on that didn’t feel great.

But today, I finally had time to sit at my desk (it’s all organized and nice!) and scroll through Twitter and Facebook, and see all the nice words people have written about Thom and Lee and Always You. And me.

And while doing this, my heart felt so full and happy and grateful for everyone who helps spreading the word of a new release. Everyone. JMS Books, my publisher. My author friends and most trusted beta readers. My friends and family. Gay Book Promotions for help with the release blitz. Bloggers and fellow authors and readers who spread the word about it, or even read and review it.

I would have been lost without all you guys this weekend. Nobody would know that my book exists and that would be a shame, because I really love Thom and Lee and their story. They deserve to be noticed and loved. And all the people I mentioned above, all of you, helped make this happen.

So, from the bottom of my heart (and from my new office space), thank you. ❤️

always you w review quotes

Thom Novak feels like a walking cliché: the gay guy desperately in love with his straight best friend, Lee. But he’s willing to keep his feelings hidden, to do whatever it takes, as long as they stay friends forever.

Lee Conway loves sharing an apartment with Thom, his best friend since birth, and would be happy doing it for the rest of his life…no matter his current girlfriend’s opinion on the matter. But he’s never been known for being in contact with his emotions.

When something happens to upset the status quo, Lee pulls away. Has Lee learned how Thom feels about him? Will it mean the end of their friendship? Or is there another reason Lee needs time to think? A more…hopeful reason?

Life update

Hi! I know I’m mostly absent from my blog these days, which sucks, but I hope I’ll be back to normal soon. The reason? Well, there are many, on top of the whole global pandemic thing, but first and foremost this one:

But Nell, you say, didn’t you just move?

Why yes, yes I did, thanks for asking. We moved to this place in November, but because of Covid-19, our landlady decided out of the blue to sell the house, so we had to scramble to find a new place to stay. But we did find a place, and a nice place at that. It’s smaller than we have now, so I’ll be without an office again and my writing space will be in the living room, but I’m fine with that. On the plus side: the apartment is brand spanking new, as in no one has lived in it before us, so that’s nice.

However, moving is a hassle and messes with my routines, which is why I haven’t been around much. The move happens next Friday (May 29) and I hope everything goes back to normal after that.

Until then, don’t forget to pre-order Always You if you haven’t already:

Always You

A couple weeks ago, I signed a contract for a story that will be released some time in May, called Always You. It’s a childhood friends-to-lovers story about Thom and Lee. I thought I’d share a mood board and the blurb with you here today. When I know more details, I’ll share them with you of course 🙂
