It Rained All Night: The Countdown Begins

Today is two weeks until the release of It Rained All Night, my short friends-to-lovers story, so today is the kickoff of the countdown I wrote about in an earlier blog post. I hope you’ll think it’ll be fun; I had a lot of fun coming up with it.

The idea of the countdown is to post a rain-themed song, a snipped of the story, and an exclusive promo pic every day, which will leave you with a 14-song playlist on release day that you can listen to while reading It Rained All Night…that you’ve obviously pre-ordered by then, enticed by all the lovely snippets you’ve been treated to. Sounds like an excellent plan, don’t you think? 😀

The idea with the songs is to only pick artists I really like, which was easier than I thought it’d be because do you know how many rain-themed songs there are?? Literally hundreds! So you won’t find Singing in the Rain on my playlist, but after you’ve listened to/watched the songs, you’ll probably know me a little better. Or maybe you’ll just think I have terrible taste in music? 😀 If that’s the case, I invite you to curate your own rain-themed playlist for release day; I’m absolutely certain you’ll find 14 songs featuring the rain that you like because there are so many 😀

Enough talking; let’s get this party started!

It Rained All Night tropes: friends-to-lovers, opposites attract, set in Sweden, 40+ characters, and class differences.

To be honest, I couldn’t remember a single time it had happened before I ended up standing with my face turned up toward the rain. Next to him, Mikko, someone exuding peace of mind, standing completely still in the midst of a hectic world.

”I’m Henrik,” I said.

”Mikko.”

The first song on my playlist is by the Norwegian band A-ha. The singer, Morten Harket, sings like an angel!

I pray for stormy weather

Welcome back tomorrow for more 🙂

Can a chance meeting in the rain change someone’s life?

Meeting someone who can make him stop going is an eye-opener for Henrik. The man, Mikko, is his complete opposite, a steady rock in the wild rainstorm that is Henrik’s life, but the connection between them is both unexpected and instantaneous. Their encounter only lasts a few minutes, but before they part, they exchange phone numbers.

They live far away from each other, but soon they text and call daily, until Mikko is Henrik’s dearest friend and most trusted person. But a late-night question on the phone has Henrik re-evaluating his feelings. It’s impossible to love someone you’ve only met in person once…right?

Is the connection Henrik and Mikko forged long distance enough to sustain them when they meet again? And will their love be strong enough to give them the happily ever after they deserve?
