🎶It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmasssss….🎶 I mean, if you count the Christmas lights I’ve put up. My hubby isn’t much for decorations, so we compromise and I put up lights. He doesn’t complain about those, because, let’s face it, Sweden is a dark, dark place this time of year and needs all the cheer it can get. Even if it’s star-shaped and glittery. (He’s not a fan of glitter, what’s wrong with him? 😀 )
Today’s recommendation is for all you DIY:ers out there, and that includes me: my daughter and I are making handmade ornaments for the tree this year. It’s also for those of you who loves singing along to Christmas music, even if you can’t carry a tune 🙂

The most wonderful time of the year is about to get even better.
On a cold, rainy December morning, Finn’s beloved Grampa, his best friend and rock, makes a friend outside their home who he invites in for coffee. The last thing Finn expects is Nelson, a man with a painful past, who is beautiful and generous and turns Finn’s knees into jelly.
What starts out as a chance to get out of the rain, soon becomes more as Nelson helps Finn get ready for the Christmas market. They bond over coffee and fabric and Mariah Carey. Can handmade Christmas ornaments and an understanding heart give Nelson the love he’s been denied?
Finn and Nelson’s story has a lot of traditional Christmas feels: drinking hot chocolate at a snowy Christmas fair, Christmas music (can you say Mariah Carey?), family of both the great and the not so great kind, homemade gingerbread cookies, and DIY ornaments. Come to think of it, Red Popcorn Strings and Gumball Rings (from December 9th) also has handmade ornaments for the tree, but Finn’s are a bit more elaborate than Casey’s was. Not that it matters, of course, as long as they’re made with love.
Just then, a snowflake lands on the tip of his nose, and without thinking, I kiss it away.
His eyes widen, and he looks at me, his mouth shaped like the letter O.
“Snowflake,” I say, giving half a smile and a shrug, as though that explains everything.
He lifts his hands and runs his fingers through my curls sticking out under the beanie. “Lots of snowflakes,” he says with a crooked smile.Quote from Under the Felt Mistletoe
So if you’re in the mood for all the Christmassy feels, a meddling but well-meaning and loving Grampa, two adorable boys who fall for each other at the speed of light, lots of gingerbread cookies, and kissing Under the Felt Mistletoe (see what I did there 😀 ) this is the book for you.

Oh, and you’ll need this, too 😀
When I channel my inner George Michael and start singing along to “Last Christmas,” Grampa yells from the kitchen. “I love you, Finn, but you know you’re allowed to sing only on Christmas Day. Don’t scare the crows!”Quote from Under the Felt Mistletoe
