Nell Iris' Christmas

Holidays at Nell’s: Day 5

If you need a good laugh, today’s recommendation is for you. When I read this, I laughed out loud several times, making my husband come out of the home office and ask what was so funny.

Holidays at Nell’s day 5: Chad vs. the Holiday Hoopla by Michael P. Thomas

Chad and Jarek are paired up for a holiday treasure hunt; they don’t know each other at all when it starts, but they get along really well. They’re so funny together; they tease each other and have the same kind of humor, and they’re overall a great team.

My one complaint is that it’s a bit low on the romance, but the story takes place during one evening after all, and they’re out on a wild goose chase to find all the treasures, so I let it slide. So if you’re in the mood for something Christmassy, hilarious, with a hint of romance, this is definitely the story for you.

“Hiya,” he boomed, yanking at my arm as if he had a bucket that needed filling and he’d mistaken me for the backyard pump.

And if you like Michael P. Thomas’ writing style, I warmly recommend another holiday story by him, It’s Not Yule, It’s Me. It’s equally funny, but it also has more romance which is a win for me. Check out my recommendation from 2018 for that book here. While you do that, I’ll just go ahead and re-read it.
