Cover reveal and Black Friday Sale!

I hope you had a good day yesterday, whether you celebrated Thanksgiving, had an ordinary Thursday, or like me: unpacked the stuff that finally came on the boat from Malaysia 😀

Today is Friday, and of course my publisher JMS Books has a Black Friday sale. And as always, it includes pre-orders, like for example for my upcoming Christmas story Four Christmases.

One month until Christmas…

Today is one month until Christmas and the last couple years, I’ve made these elaborate holiday themed blog posts during December, but this year with the move, I haven’t had the time to plan and execute something like that. So instead, I thought I’d recommend six (and a bonus) of my favorite holiday themed reads from last year’s advent calendar here on the blog (when I recommended a holiday story I’d read and loved every day until the 25th).

I read this book last December, but didn’t include it in the advent calendar because I loved it so much it needed a separate post here on the blog where I could gush freely about it.

But really. If you haven’t read The Remaking of Corbin Wale by Roan Parrish you really really should. It’s a fabulous, fabulous holiday story that deserves all the love. Read my gushy review here (buy link is in the review).

Book recommendation

Just a short book recommendation today. Never in a million years would I have thought of shipping Susan Price and Mary Crawford (from Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park) but I couldn’t not buy this book when I stumbled upon it. And I’m glad I did; I really enjoyed this short little story.

So if you have a few minutes, want a F/F historical short that is a Jane Austen fanfic, may I recommend Her Particular Friend by JL Merrow?

Cover reveal

As I told you a while back, I requested the rights back for my Dreamspinner Press advent calendar, Red Popcorn Strings and Gumball Rings. But now the time has come (or soon at least) to re-release it.

My fabulous publisher JMS Books kindly agreed to re-release Casey and Ellis’s story and it will be released on December 7. And I have the new cover. Wanna see?

Isn’t it cute?? 😍😍 I love it so much; it’s so much better suited to the story than the generic DSP cover was.

My chaotic life

Hi everyone. I’m in Sweden now…or actually I’ve been here since November 9th, but my life has been a giant whirlwind of chaos since I arrived. Who ever said it was easy moving across the world? No one? Okay, sounds about right.

I thought you might like to see a few pictures, if for no other reason than to feel sorry for me and my current situation? 🙂

We brought a few bags with us on the plane, heh. Not more than about 250 pounds worth of stuff. Uuuuugh, that was no fun at all.

When we landed, we stayed at a hotel first because we didn’t get the keys to our new place until the 12th. And after that we stayed for a few more days because we had lots of admin stuff to do (like visiting the Swedish version of IRS to write ourselves back into the country and a gazillion other equally unfun things) and couldn’t focus on moving in.

When we got the keys, we didn’t have any stuff (except for the 250 pounds of stuff we brought on the plane, but we couldn’t sleep on any of that) so we went to Ikea to buy what we decided not to bring on the boat and instead buy new here.

…and we bought all the things. And this wasn’t even half of it. We had to go back the next day, and then they didn’t have what we needed so we ended up ordering some stuff online that will be delivered on Saturday. A new desk for me, among other things. Can’t wait!

After all the unpacking, it looked like Ikea had vomited on our living room floor.

And this is the current state of affairs while we wait for the container of stuff to arrive from Malaysia (on or around December 7). How do you like our very fancy dining table?? 😂 But at least we have a new (very nice!) bed to sleep in, enough things to cook with, and this table is better than having dinner on the floor, don’t you agree?

But OMG I miss my things. My desk things, my books, my vinyl records. My fancy office chair. My teas! So if someone could please tell the boat transporting our things to hurry, I’d be forever grateful! 😀
