Advent calendar: day 14

Behind door number 14 of my advent calendar, we find Christmas Angel by Eli Easton. I’m a huge fan of Eli Easton and I had originally planned to feature another of her Christmas books in the advent calendar, but then I read her new one and I changed my mind.

Also, I need more historical romances in my life. And I adore Mr. Trent and Mr. Allston. And even though it’s a fabulous romance, the story is almost worth reading only for Mr. Trent’s house mates.

Today’s quote from the book:

The words evaporated when Trent pulled the glove off his right hand and raised the backs of his fingers to Alec’s cheek. “Not too cold?”

How his hand could be so hot was a mystery. Or perhaps Alec’s cheek was just that cold. But the touch seared him. His eyes watered, and his inside swooped as though his heart were a bird diving into the sea.

Today’s song to go with the story

The Coventy Carol by Allison Moyet because it is a Christmas carol from the 16th century, so it’s entirely possible that Mr. Trent and Mr. Allston heard carolers sing it when they were out for a walk, isn’t it?
