Nell Iris' Christmas

Advent calendar: day 3

teabooks

Behind door number 3 of the advent calendar, we find Goldilocks and the Bear by Clare London. I bought this book without even reading the blurb just because the cover is ADORABLE (with capital letters and seven exclamation marks), but I’m not sorry I did. I giggled and awwwed my way through it, and sighed happily when it ended. This is just what a holiday story is supposed to be like. Gil is fabulous, Bruin is fabulous, this book is fabulous. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

One week, two men, three Christmas trees. And hopefully a fairytale romance.

Today’s quote from the book:

โ€œBut, you see? Sometimes itโ€™s the person looking, not the person looked at. I think youโ€™re gorgeous.โ€

โ€œI thinkโ€ฆโ€ He looked really embarrassed, but happily so. โ€œI think youโ€™re beautiful. And looking at you makes my words curdle.โ€

Today’s song to go with the story

Last Christmas by Wham! because last Christmas Gil gave his heart to someone who gave it away the very next day, but this year, to save himself from tears, he gives it to someone special.

    1. It actually almost didn’t! At first, none of the stories I had planned on featuring went with that song. But then this book bumped another out of the list and suddenly I had a book that fit perfectly with my beloved George Michael! I still haven’t been able to work Do They Know It’s Christmas into the list…but there’s one book I’m looking to replace, so there’s still hope! ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Mine, too. I’ve loved it since it was released when I was 12 ๐Ÿ˜€

And feel free to steal the idea for next year, but be warned: it took a lot of work! I’ve been planning this for at least a month ๐Ÿ˜€
