Nell Iris' Christmas

Christmasvaganza: Music Monday

Happy Monday everyone. Not many days to go until Christmas now and I’m flying back to Sweden on the 22nd. The number one item on my Santa wish list is hugs from my beloved daughter, so I’m going back to collect. And also to eat my parents’ food!

But before all that, let’s talk about this week’s song choice. I’ve chosen Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band Aid, and I’ve literally loved this song since its release in 1984. I was twelve years old and it’s as if Midge Ure and Bob Geldof (who wrote the song) looked into my heart to see what I loved, called up all my favorite bands (with the exception of Depeche Mode), and asked them to participate. I was a huge fan of Wham, Duran Duran, Culture Club, Ultravox, Spandau Ballet, and U2 so this collaboration was like a dream come true to me. And it was all for a good cause.

So here they are; all the artists that made my preteen and teenage heart throb. Have a great week and make sure to take a moment to slow down. Read a book. Listen to a great song. Have a cup of tea. Don’t stress too much! ❤️
