Bonus Scene, Unconditionally

Bonus scene: Unconditionally

One week ago today, Unconditionally was released. I wanted to do something to celebrate this fabulous event, so I wrote a bonus scene. If you’ve read my story, this little snippet from Luca and Gus’s life, takes place sometime between Chapter 9 and the epilogue. (And if you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for? 🙂 )

I hope you enjoy it.

When Gus parked outside his and Luca’s home after what felt like the longest day in the history of long days, he collapsed over the steering wheel. He was exhausted and every muscle in his body ached, making him feel like he was a hundred years old.

“Maybe I’ll sleep here,” he yawned, unable to work up the energy to get out of the car.

But as the engine clicked and the cold started seeping in, he thought how much better he’d feel if he got inside where he could cuddle up against Luca on the couch. Or in bed. Without clothes. He would probably fall asleep as soon as he lay his head on his husband’s shoulder, but at least they’d be naked.

As he pictured Luca’s body and the miles and miles of smooth, pale skin, he felt a slight stirring in his pants. He looked down at his clothed crotch and nodded in approval, happy to see everything was still functioning. He’d had his doubts lately.

And that was what finally got him moving. He groaned as he put weight on his tired feet, but shuffled as fast as he could to the door, eager to see his husband.

He heard the music before he put the key in the lock, and smiled when he recognized it.

Beyoncé.

Luca was going to be dancing around in their living room, then.

But nothing could have prepared him for the sight that met him as he stepped into their home. His briefcase slid out of his hand and landed on the floor with a loud thump, and all he could do was stare at Luca with his mouth hanging open.

Luca was naked, except for the saddest excuse for briefs Gus had ever seen. They were bright red, hung low on his hips, and so skimpy they barely covered his shaking ass. Gus had never seen them before, but fell in love with them instantly. Luca bobbed his head to the beat vigorously and moved his feet in a way that more resembled spastic stomping—that would make a herd of elephants proud—than actual dancing.

But what really caught Gus’s attention was Luca’s hand, and how he held it. He’d stretched out his arm, but the back of the hand was toward him and its thin fingers fanned out. He wiggled his ring finger as if he wanted to make sure the large rock Gus had put on it sparkled as much as possible in the dim light.

And then Gus heard the words he was singing.

“Gustav liked it so he went and put a ring on it,” Luca belted out and pointed to his diamond with his right index finger, just like Queen Bey herself did in the video. The second “Gustav liked it so he went and put a ring on it,” was accompanied by a smack with his right hand on his slim hip.

It was the most adorable and funny thing Gus had seen in his entire life, and he broke out in a laughter so deep, it felt like it came all the way from his toes.

Luca’s head whipped around at the sound of Gus’s guffaws and his face split in a wide smile. He turned and started to strut toward Gus. He took a step, pointed his narrow foot so that only his big toe was touching the floor, and then he shimmied his hips. Slowly. Seductively. Then he repeated the entire thing with his other leg, gradually approaching Gus, who couldn’t have moved if his life had depended on it.

Gus licked his lips and couldn’t take his eyes off his husband’s enticing hips. His fingers itched to touch every inch of Luca’s alabaster skin and he wanted nothing more than to tear off the minimal briefs, grab him by the ass, and push his aching crotch against his husband’s.

Suddenly Luca was right there in Gus’s personal space, throwing an around his neck, forcing Gus’s gaze away from his groin. He looked up into Luca’s twinkling, amused eyes and swallowed.

“Welcome home, Mr. Spock,” Luca singsonged and leaned down, but stopped before his glistening lips touched Gus’s.

“Unh,” Gus replied, eloquent as ever in his husband’s presence. He leaned closer, desperate to claim Luca’s pouty mouth and kiss the living daylights out of him, but Luca leaned away.

“Uh-uh.” Luca let go of his neck, turned away from Gus, and resumed his dancing. And his hip-wiggling.

Gus moaned.

“Gustav liked it so he went and put a ring on it.” Beyoncé had gotten to the second chorus and Luca joined in, singing from the top of his voice. He lifted his hand high enough for Gus to see, and then he pointed to the ring again. He glanced over his shoulder, winked, and beckoned Gus to follow.

Gus did, all the way to the bedroom, as if Luca had been the pied piper. Then he got his wish fulfilled and they fell asleep, cuddled up against each other.

But not until later.

Much later.

    1. Thank you! I had this very vivid image in my head of this scene and I was afraid I wouldn’t do it justice. But I’m happy about the result. And it was fun revisiting Gus and Luca 🙂
